When the artist gets involved in organization

Did you think that Joëlle, our artistic director, was also co-director of the agency? Well, no! But now she is! On May 9, during our last general meeting, she was unanimously elected by the board of directors to the position of co-director, with individual signing authority.

Joëlle is now responsible for operations: project monitoring, team management, implementing processes to improve production, and more. And all this, in addition to continuing to rule with an iron fist in a velvet glove (preferably coral) over the artistic direction.

For his part, Pierre will retain his management position, but with new priorities, or rather, greater availability for strategic matters and representing the agency externally.
To sum it up simply and save you from having to use some AI to do so (yes, we can see you on ChatGPT!): Joëlle will now be in charge of internal management, while Pierre will manage the agency's external affairs.

But what does it feel like to become co-director? We asked Joëlle a few (im)pertinent questions to find out more:

A new position means a new title. So, would you prefer to be called "co-director," "Adobe empress," or "high priestess of typography"?

High priestess of typos suits me quite well.

There are two of you in charge now... Who wins when you have to choose between two logos?

Me, of course... 😉

What is more challenging? Managing customer requests or vacation requests?

I would say customer requests, though. I have colleagues who have fairly relaxed vacation requests. 😉

More seriously, what does this change in status mean for you?

Everything! It's so rewarding to run the agency I've given my all to. Because for me, Lemon has never just been a job, it's always been a state of mind.

From my very first day, I wanted to give it 200%. So much so that I put my own business on hold. I devoted all my time, energy, and ideas to it... And I was driven by a desire to always go further.

It's a daily investment that starts in the morning, thinking about how to improve creative processes. It means spending your lunch break wondering whether you've managed a particular project well. It means working on strategies in the evening and thinking late into the night, over and over again. It means living in a state of constant questioning, driven by passion.

It's intense, it's demanding, but it's also very beautiful, and I'm extremely proud of it. Today, I'm exactly where I want to be.

Because Lemon is my life's work.
